Eric McCormack to star in TNT series

Eric McCormack is returning to the small screen.
The former Will & Grace star has just begun production on a new original series for TNT, Perception.
The network ordered 10 episodes of the procedural, in which McCormack plays socially-awkward neuroscientist Dr. Daniel Pierce, who helps solve complex criminal cases despite his eccentric behavior.
Pierce is described as having “intimate knowledge of human behavior and masterful understanding of the mind.”
McCormack will work alongside Rachel Leigh Cook (FBI Agent Kate Moretti),Arjay Smith (teaching assistant Max Lewicki) and Kelly Rowan (Pierce’s best friend Natalie Vincent), as well as being a producer on the show.
Since Will & Grace ended in 2006, McCormack starred in TNT’s short lived Trust Me, which was canceled after one season, and had a recurring role as Dr. Max Kershaw, a therapist on CBS’ The New Adventures of Old Christine for six episodes.
