Anne Hathaway is bored of being a style icon!
The Devil Wears Prada star says making ’90s set movie One Day had her pining for her teens and her old wardrobe of berets, floppy shirts and Doc Martens .
“I remember begging my parents for Doc Martens which I loved,” says Anne, 28.
“And berets … I was obsessed. I would go to the drugstore and pick out different colors and just thought it was the coolest thing ever. Then I would wear my older brother’s flannel shirt that was like 18 sizes to big but I didn’t really care.
“There wasn’t much glamor then and I thought that was kind of nice. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I like dipping into that, but nowadays, you are expected to look like a supermodel when you go for coffee, it’s ridiculous.”
Anne — who has been in a relationship with Adam Shulman for three years recently insisted she is “open” to getting married.
“I am open to marriage, actually. I just went through a phase where I wanted to look at it from every angle to make sure that I wasn’t just falling in step with some kind of prescribed fantasy,” said Anne.
“I was at my best friend’s wedding just two days ago, and I watched this person who I love like a sister, and who has changed my life and continues to change my life for the better, who I feel as close to as I do my family, commit herself to a man who she loves, and I watched how happy it made her.
“I mean, she looked like she was riding a bubble the whole night. I thought, ‘Weddings are important because they celebrate life and possibility.’ “
